Like a key for your computer, the CipherGuard protects your information with full AES-256 encryption. Plug in the CipherGuard to access your files. Unplug it to secure them. No passwords to remember or hide. The CipherGuard guards your data from key-loggers, malware, and hackers even if Windows is not password protected.
CipherGuard technology offers hardware-based endpoint data protection without the hassles and hazards of passwords.
What is CipherGuard technology and how does it work
LucidPort’s CipherGuard creates an encrypted partition on your computer’s hard drive.
This partition looks and acts like another drive in the system. Every file and application
placed in this drive is automatically encrypted. As long as the CipherGuard is plugged in,
you can access these files and applications normally. Once the CipherGuard is removed, this
drive disappears and all access is terminated.
The CipherGuard employs AES-256 encryption to secure the sensitive data on your computer. This is the same type of encryption used by the US government and many Fortune 500 companies. But encryption is only as strong as its key management. The CipherGuard utilizes a patent pending hardware cipher that protects your information from malware, key-loggers, and hackers.
What CipherGuard means to users
Security doesn’t have to mean cumbersome. Moving beyond passwords, the CipherGuard protects
the sensitive information on your computer with a physical key. You no longer have to type
in ever-changing passwords or wait for slow VPN accesses to get at your data. Just plug in
the CipherGuard to access your files; unplug it to secure them. Since the files never leave
the PC, they are recoverable even if the CipherGuard is lost or broken.
Automatically encrypt files and folders for cloud storage. Drag and drop sensitive files to your network or cloud storage folder. Automatically encrypted, they can be decrypted from any other computer, but only with your CipherGuard plugged in.
Keep your email and web cache safe from prying eyes by installing those applications directly in the encrypted partition. Applications work normally with the CipherGuard plugged in. They are fully encrypted when the CipherGuard is removed.
Let someone else borrow your computer. Without the CipherGuard, your sensitive data stays private. But your computer remains fully operational.
What CipherGuard means to IT managers
IT staff is tasked with endpoint data protection. But users often end up taping their
passwords right to their computers.
The CipherGuard employs a key and lock model that’s
convenient enough for users to put into actual practice.
The CipherGuard includes many features to make the IT manager’s job easier.
- Stop accidental lockouts and data loss with a master key
- Backup users’ encrypted files even without the CipherGuard plugged in
- Easily install, replace, or recover CipherGuards without LucidPort registration or authorization
- Issue duplicate CipherGuards to share encrypted files among a group
- Quickly and securely dispose of sensitive data
- Disable lost CipherGuards
Unlike encrypted hard disks or flash keys, the CipherGuard provides unlimited storage space with a fixed investment. A single CipherGuard can be used to encrypt multiple drives (including USB drives and flash keys) on multiple computers.
